Abstract

This review discusses three publications devoted to Pskov and the surrounding region — a Russian borderland. The dictionary features lexicographical matches in the dialects of the RussoBelarussian borderland. The collection of travelogues demonstrates that local phenomena signify trends of a larger culture. A. Razumovskaya’s monograph explores Pskov-specific mythology and, more broadly, the “Pskov text” in Russian literature.
